Exactly one year after the release of the album “Evil”, the São Paulo thrash/death metal group Faces of Death releases the live EP “Thrash disConcert”, recorded at the show held on September 14th at Red Star Studios, in São Paulo. The audio recording for the EP, available on streaming platforms, was done by Red Star Studios, with mixing and mastering by Niko Teixeira, from Audiolab Extreme Studio. The cover art was done by João Duarte.
“Since I was a teenager, I’ve always tried to listen to live albums or those ‘B-side’ albums that bands released. So, I’ve always wanted to release a live album with Faces Of Death to leave our mark on history. These are unique moments that will not only remain in our memories, but also in an official record,” commented vocalist and guitarist Laurence Miranda. “Completing one year since the release of the album ‘Evil’, there’s nothing better than this live EP that demonstrates all the brutality and weight of the band. I thank all the headbangers who made the EP insane. Listen at full volume,” added bassist Sylvio Miranda.
For drummer Igor Nogueira, the EP shows the objective of the new lineup, which has been sounding increasingly aggressive on stage. “This release shows the strength and weight of our live performance, because ever since I joined Faces of Death we have been looking for the best ways to sound as aggressive as possible, using both our techniques and the characteristics and personalities of each of us. The result is the release of ‘Thrash disConcert’ in less than six months of this new lineup.”
Guitarist Maurício Filho concludes: “This live EP recorded at Red Star Studios captures all the energy and brutality of our show. I am very happy that this is the first recording of my performance available on the band’s platforms. And we await the bangers at the next show in São Paulo, which will be at the ‘Sexta Metal project’, on November 29th, at Woodstock Discos.”
